Like the Perth Mint in 2012, the Canadian Mint released several Year of the Dragon coins, with a $150 1/3 oz Gold of a different design with matching silver, a Hongbao silver and gold $5, and of this design, a fractional ounce set (this one), a scallop edged silver ounce, a silver kilo and gold kilo.
I preferred this particular design to the more abstract one of the $150 round. The field on the 1 oz is slightly concave which is why I took more shots of it with a white gloved finger strategically placed to highlight various details on the coin. This particular set has a very low mintage of only 500, with none of the coins available separately. One interesting thing I noticed is that though this is supposed to be proof, there are no matted areas on the reverse of the coin, only on the Queen’s portrait.
